 Each year the Bucket Regatta designates a portion of the entry fee for donation to a meaningful non-profit program in St Barths.
The 2016 Donation will be presented to the St Barths Yacht Club to underwrite the purchase of replacement boats for the children's fleet. The current Optimist fleet is aging and only 10 of the 17 boats are in service. The contribution from the Bucket entries would replace nearly all of the seven boats that are no longer useful.
The SBYC is more of a sailing school than a conventional yacht club. Resources and budgets are more limited than what we expect to find in a "yacht club."
Being an island, it is very important for the children to learn to sail as a practical matter. Sailing also enhances the children's personal growth and development as they learn to respect each other and the environment.

2015
 Special Needs Children Project
St Barth schools have 40 special needs students with various motor and cognitive challenges. Outside the school system there are other island children with even more severe disabilities. The existing program facilities and services are not adequate to help these children and their families thrive.
This project supports the island's first dedicated, handicap-accessible space suitable for assessment, treatment and coordinated support services, and provides the additional special educator and psychological services these children need to achieve greater autonomy, better school integration and a better quality of life.
The 2015 St Barth Bucket was proud to contribute to this initiative of the local St Barth Lions and Rotary Clubs.
2014
 St Joseph's School
The St Joseph School is a private Catholic institution that welcomes more than 200 kindergarten and primary students (ages 3 – 11). The school is one of the oldest educational institutions in St Barthelemy and in need of donations to improve the schoolyard/playground. The clay-coated sand is a health risk to the children and must be upgraded.
The 2014 St Barths Bucket was very pleased to be able to help out the St Joseph School and allow the children to continue to learn and grow in a healthy environment. In the photograph (left) children from the St. Joseph's School thankfully accepted a check representing funds that had been earmarked from Bucket registration fees for this worthy local charitable cause.

SBYC Youth Sailing Programs
Representatives from the Saint Barths Yacht Club Youth Sailing Program accepted the 2013 Bucket donation. Each year a portion of all entry fees are donated by the owners to a local charity. Owners and friends of the Bucket are also making additional contributions.  2012
Nun's House Restoration
The 2012 Official Charity was the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres House in Lorient, a house that has had such a positive history and through the years has touched the whole population of St. Barths. The house served as a school and later as a residence for the Sisters. It had fallen into disrepair and was in need of significant restoration. The Sisters have been forced to live in the Rectory, which has proven too small and insufficient for their needs.
Though the goal was to have renovations completed by summer 2012. Our donatios can help achieve the goal.
2011
Foundation for Emergency Medical Equipment (FEMUR)
Founded over 25 years ago by a group of French, American, and native St Barth residents, the Foundation for Emergency Medical Equipment (FEMUR) raises money to purchase equipment for the local hospital.
